Mordheim rebuilt pt. 10.5

Enter the scrubs!

I thought it would be handy to have a extra Warband painted up. The band is made up old Bretonian models and few of the leftover mercenaries that come with the box set. I didn't spend a great deal of time on them and it shows. I wasn't very keen on painting them after all the time I spent on the Empire dudes. If I was to paint up a second band?  It would be something cool like... Orcs or Beastmen.  The set is truly intended as a spare and hopefully will just be used to introduce the game to new players.

Mordheim rebuilt pt. 10

Just some random photos of the city. I finished painting up the last two buildings and haven't made it much farther then that. It's been so darn hot over the past week that it has put a damper on the hobby time. Hopefully, this week will be a little cooler and working out in the garage won't be so unbearable. I have also started working on the first three story building and should have some pictures of that in the next few days.

Mordheim rebuilt pt. 9

The dreaded 13th building in all its unpainted glory. Along with the even more terrible, 14th building, things are starting to get nice and crowed on the board. Maybe, one or two more buildings, then I'm calling it quits for a while. I still haven't found the time to use all the bits that have been dug up over the past weeks. That will probably be the very last detail work on the little destroyed city.

I also put some paint on my dead tree stand-thingy. It's made of leftover City of Death kits and this old wire tree that was lying around. I'm looking into making a some statues next. Not anything huge, just big enough to block L.o.S and make the table look interesting.  A few of those all painted up would make this shanty town start to look like it belongs in the Old World.

Island of blood pics

I normally don't do the "new model" post, unless is it's something that really catches my eye. The pair of Rat Ogres fit in that description nicely. The Griffy is just so cool.

Mordheim rebuilt pt. 8

I have been taking it kinda’ easy over the past few days. Still haven’t played a game yet, but I’m hoping that will change sometime soon. My Warband is finally painted up and ready to plunder the depths of the Mordhiem. I present to you, The Rozenritter, soon to be the most feared named in all the city.

I’m still a little torn over to use them as Reiklanders or the Marienburg. It really doesn’t matter much, cause it looks like I’ll be the only mercenary band, for some reason the Skaven seem to be a popular choice. The Undead and Chaos rounding out the rest of the choices.

The Warriors of the Rozenritter.

Left to right: Neidhardt Müller,  Fritz Josef Bittenfeld,  Walter von Schenkopp, Oskar von Reuenthal, and Wolfgang Mittermeyer.

The next time, I should have some more terrain to show off.

Mordheim rebuilt pt. 7.5

I am cheating again with a little mini post, while painting up the Warband. I made these up last night instead of watching the paint dry. They are Wyrdstone markers for during the game. I had to model something instead of using the lame old card ones. Most of the mission are focused on them, so I thought would nice to have some.  All they are is broken bits of the neon green plastic and green wash. Nothing amazing, but I like 'em.

Mordheim rebuilt pt. 7

It has been allot of brush work and long hours, but the 12 buildings are painted. I'm going to take a little break and put some effort into my Warband.  After that, it will be time to build some bigger stuff and random crap to help fill out the board.

Overall, the idea is to be able to cover a 4x6 area. Just in case, I happen to have a multi-player game and it can't hurt to have a few themed pieces of terrain. A few more Ladders/bridges will be first when I get back into the construction of the city. Here in the near future, I will take the time and post up some better pictures of the whole set-up.

Mordheim rebuilt pt. 6.5

This is sort of a half post. I stopped into the local store to check out some minis for my future Warband. When I was snooping around the old White Dwarfs. I found a few of  these old things sitting in the box next to them. Best part was I got them for half price. Now, I have rules for extra equipment, Lizard-man Raiding parties, Sea pirates, burning buildings, and bunch of extra missions. I really haven't sat down to read them yet, but it looks like some interesting stuff.

Mordheim rebuilt pt. 6

Well, I was right about one thing, it's taking a long time. Something else, dawn on me while painting away on the ruins. This is one of those projects that you can just paint on forever, and never be done. However, I must confess that it's been fun to paint up such big models compared to the regular toy solider.

So far, I'm pretty happy with how things are turning out. I finally manage to dig up a rulebook, and have been poking my nose in the color sections for inspiration. Its  giving me bad ideas for bigger buildings that will take shape in the near future.

Once again, Thanks for all the great feedback from everybody. I really appreciate all the comments on my otherwise quiet blog.
