Random Wargame Pictures

It’s Sunday, so I figure that’s a good excuse to post up some random photos of the a few games that I played last year. They were still on the camera’s hard disk so…why not?

Some are of my Dark Eldar caught in the heat of battle against friend and foe alike. It’s a shame that more of the Ice battle pictures didn’t turn out better. I’m a sucker for that table. Others are few Mordheim skirmishes between the Skaven and the Men of the Empire.

This week I hope to have my first painted mini of the year posted up by Tuesday. I thought it would be best just to paint some random mini to stretch the old paint brushes again and make sure I remember how to paint.

Painted Clanrats

White balance is a bit off. I need to start checking my camera's settings now that I'm not using the light tent. I'm still considering a very small amount of static grass for this army, but for now they're fighting on mordheim-style rubble and soot.

Skritch the Mutilator

May well be working on this guy again in the future but I'm going to leave as-is for now. One of my favorite models ever. (Camera died at some point so I took another pic with my droid. Too low-quality for me; won't be using that again.)

More Skaven models completed

Being resourceful (?) with my droid.. Lazy pic style. I'd like to point out that these models are out of control for plastics. Sometimes I look back and think 'back in the day they used to make something this big out of metal... or not at all'. Then I usually change the subject in my brain bc I feel very old for 25 lol

Constructing Skaven (new shelf pics)

I got a shelf. I've played 40k for 9 years and I don' t think I've ever had one lol. New Skaven in first pic and the lower shelves in the other. I still own my Wood Elves. If anyone is interested shoot me an email or something. I'm done with Ebay.

edit: pics seem a bit grainy. hmmm

First game of Mordheim w/my new Skaven!

Here's some pics from our first game of Mordheim last week! It was epic, mostly due to the fact that Larry's a hobby genius and made an insane city table in less than a month. (That's him in one of the pics) I'll let the images tell the tale of the battle. My objective, which I completed, was to get two of my members of his table edge. Better pics of my Skaven soon!

Ahh... Rats

I had a Skaven army once, all Old school pewter. Got when I was a kid, though some White Dwarf promotion. I'm mean what captures the imagination more then a pair of cowardly rat-men running around with a flame thrower that spits green fire!

Hadn't played in years.
Sold 'em on Ebay.
Stupid Larry.
Oh well...

I was on the border line for this one. My spidey sense was tell'n me, painting hundreds of rat men might drive me over the edge. How many pink tails can one paint before you go insane? When the clan rats came pics came out a month ago, I was sold. I've been waiting for this for a long time. I started to poke around the the website to check out the other plastic sets.

Hmmm... didn't care for the Rat-ogres (shame), and some the plague monks still had the cartoony look to them (sigh). So, I decided to wait until I saw the spure for the clan rats, maybe do some head swapping. Unfortunately, the new models heads are fused to the torsos. Hmmm... Then I saw this guy!
He just screams action.
He's jumping over a swarm of lil 'ole rats.
Die,Die! Man-thing!

The description on the Storm Vermin spure said it has a few extra heads. A bit of hope. A $50.00 box of hope, but a little. You get 20 rats in the Vermin box so, it does take a bit of sting out the price. Then the Doom Wheel!
Heck, I just want to get one to kit-bash and make a new truck for my Orks. This thing is just too much. Just that banner alone is the coolest bitz I've seen in awhile.I should just give up now and go buy some Vermin Brown, but 4 pt. Clan Rats make my paint brush cry.
